Position Description:The primary focus would be to support the department needs for the management tasks needed to run a shift, oversee details on manufacturing processes and output, and to lead activities that improve operational excellence. This position will provide a link between the Operations team, Planning, Maintenance, and Quality and will drive improvements in all areas.Day to Day Responsibilities:
  • Develop and oversee the department schedule to meet the needs of the factory. Includes ordering materials, ordering ware, or adjusting/expediting the line schedules. Completing spreadsheets as required.
  • Reconcile tickets and ware. Inventory accuracy audits.
  • Coordinate experimental line time with Engineering and planning.
  • Compiling shift paperwork and summarize daily SOS, PPMs, Layered audits, Job change & start-ups, Check lists. Management of documentation audits, PDCs
  • Back fill for existing team leaders, in establishing rosters, schedules, required reporting, pre-shift meetings, provide shift direction and/or discipline if necessary. Manufacturing Processes & Output
  • Ensure safety task management for investigations, department Top 5 actions.
  • Track quality PPMs, conduct investigations and corrective actions.
  • Track uptime and throughput, conduct investigations and corrective actions.
  • Develop methods to track compliance to schedule.
  • 5S & housekeeping program execution; implement visual standards.
  • Tracking of supplies and equipment spending Operational Excellence
  • Develop and implement programs or systems to standardize team leader tasks and on-boarding.
  • Completion of continuous improvement projects for information flow and material flow in the department, with Planning, and with upstream or downstream departments.
  • Development of departmental communications as it relates to improved performance to existing and new processes.
  • Corrective and preventive actions for department projects.
  • Develop actions to improve rigor the daily process.

Within Group: You will be working in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

Travel Requirements: You can expect less than 10% travel.

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: Your typical work schedule will be 8-5pm M-F although you should expect to have flexibility for off shift and weekend coverage is expected to support project assignments including overtime.

Required Education and Experience:

You should have a BS in Engineering with about 1 year of manufacturing experience along with:

  • Ability to multi-task
  • Good attitude and social skills
  • Training and understanding of cost accounting.
  • Trained and experienced in fundamentals of safety and health.
