Job Description


  • The Credit & Collections Specialist is responsible for assisting in the coordination and performance of daily departmental credit and collections activities; working closely with team members, and senior credit management to monitor and ensure compliance with credit laws and credit policies.
  • This person must be able to initiate, maintain and grow solid relationships with our Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance teams to assess existing processes and procedures for improvement opportunities related to account management to help minimize operational risk while improving cash flow for Oldcastle.  
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have an advanced working knowledge of credit and collection concepts pertaining to B2B credit within the construction arena. Additionally, this individual must have strong negotiation and analytical skills along with superb communication and customer service skills. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities 


  • Key support function for the Credit Manager that will help in administration of credit and collection policy & procedures for the Oldcastle Infrastructure business
  • Perform daily activities including monitor AR aging, make outbound calls to secure timely payment, investigate reasons for past due invoices, identify severely delinquent and at-risk accounts, submit accounts to legal and/or third-party collection agencies
  • Will prepare summaries, present facts, and offer opinions concerning the financial condition of customers based on the analysis of credit risk and other pertinent details to evaluate credit lines and job accounts
  • Will perform collection related functions through email, phone, fax, etc. including making recommendations to management for the placement accounts with a collection agency or bad debt write off
  • Maintain job files, monitor lien and bond claim rights, and ensure rights are not missed by complying with state statutes
  • Initiate, maintain and grow solid relationships with our Customers, Sales, Finance and Operational partners
  • Will be held accountable to meet reoccurring performance analysis, key business metrics, and to provide key reports to management
  • Review reports and provide feedback to sales, supply chain and operational teams to drive action within the business on accounts requiring attention for more detailed resolution

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills (make complex ideas easy to understand)
  • Must have strong analytical, problem solving and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Have a willingness to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
  • Skilled user in MS Office software and Cloud base technology
  • Must be self-motivated




  • Minimum 2 years of experience in credit and collections field
  • NACM certification or AA business degree a plus
