The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Business Intelligence Analytics Tool Graduate Intern for an internship opportunity. This position will be located at in El Segundo, CA. 


The successful candidate will be apart of the Economic and Market Analysis Center Department. 



  • Develop business intelligence analytics tools. Some of the possible projects may include building recommender systems, anomaly detection, market trend forecasting, predictive portfolio and financial analytics, and automated company assessment tools. 
  • Participates with an interdisciplinary team in ongoing research or technical programs with academic collaboration partners.
  • Applies standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of prescribed scientific and/or engineering tasks.
  • Training and mentorship will be provided.

  • Bachelor's degree completed by Spring 2019 from an accredited college/university with plans to pursue a [Master's/PhD] degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Natural Sciences or related STEM disciplines 
  • Experience in machine learning and statistics to include predictive modeling, parametric and nonparametric analysis 
  • Experience building an analytics pipeline to include acquisition & curation of both structured and unstructured business and technical data, onboarding onto datastores (for example, AWS or Google Compute), training of learning models, and distribution of analytics products
  • Experience with data visualization packages 
  • Experienced Python, R, Julia, or Scala developer
  • Knowledge of core ML and Data Processing libraries in the chosen development language
  • Familiarity with Natural Language Processing
  • Strong interpersonal, communication skills (written and oral), leadership and problem-solving abilities 
  • Must be a team player and possess the ability to work with multidisciplinary and cross-organizational teams 
  • Current SSBI or the ability to get one



  • Ability to support business case analysis or assess company/technology viability
  • Experience with Graph Databases, for example MongoDB or Neo4j, and familiarity writing queries in Cypher
  • Experience with Spark, Hadoop, Hive, or Pig
  • Experience with Flask
  • Experience with deep learning architectures
