Job Description

 

Sr. Principal (Director level) Vendor Management role is directly responsible for engaging and maintaining an aggressive portfolio of global vendors that will align and support Sabre’s ability to deliver software products in each of it’s global development centers. Role will have ownership of how Sabre designs, implements and directs all activities relating to the coordination of outsourced operations. Ensures that all policies, procedures, best practices and service standards are implemented and achieved per contractual arrangements.

 

Responsibilities

  • Engage and evaluate global vendors that will be utilized for outsourced support of software product engineering, software development, IT services, facilities and employee engagement.
  • Select and maintain an aggressive and diverse portfolio of global vendors that support Sabre’s global development centers execute strategic business objectives.
  • Validation of vendor capabilities for both technical and business functions to ensure selection of vendor portfolio.
  • Manage the performance of vendors using metrics and KPI’s that align with contractual agreements.
  • Extensive global travel to Asia Pacific, India, Europe and South America to engage local vendors, evaluate capabilities and build relationships.
  • Work closely with Sabre Global Procurement team to build RFP’s and RFI’s that closely align with business needs.
  • Provide global leadership by partnering with Sabre Business Unit leaders to ensure alignment and vendor portfolio meet the individual needs of the business
  • Operate with high integrity while negotiating and building long term partnerships with global vendors

Job Requirements

 

Requirements

  • 10 years of progressive experience managing global outsource vendors
  • Proven experience managing global vendors with a focus on India and Asia Pacific
  • Strong interpersonal skills that result in positive interactions with existing and potential vendor community
  • Ability to negotiate aggressively with a high level of integrity
  • Technical acumen or previous experience in a technical role that will provide additional ability to effectively evaluate vendor capabilities
  • Understanding of the software development product lifecycle is preferred but not required

 

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, Master’s degree preferred
