Role Title: SAP Canada Payroll Lead

 

Role Description

 

The SAP Canada Payroll Lead will provide expertise with Canadian Payroll implementation and optimization projects and serves as a thought leader on SAP Payroll deployments. This person will work closely with customers and plays a lead role in the design, delivery and support of SAP Payroll and/or SuccessFactors EC Payroll solutions. This person will have previous experience leading Payroll implementation projects. The applicant may reside anywhere within Canada, but must have the ability and willingness to travel to the US to deliver projects.

    Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Design and configure solution based on SAP/SuccessFactors Payroll industry best practices
  • Manage delivery of projects
  • Perform blueprinting workshops to gather the client requirements.
  • Document the client solution including their business requirements and any integrations specifications.
  • Liaise with clients throughout the data conversion process of extraction, transformation, and loading. Provide assistance required including performing data loads and reconciliation.
  • Generate test scripts to enable clients to test the solution.
  • Support clients through the User Acceptance, Parallel Testing and Go-Live phases.
  • Ensure that all deliverables are created on time and accurately as per project schedule, such as Design, specifications, Config Audits and configuration documentation.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of the SAP Products, of SAP related news and any developments to the product and its competitors.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of Deloitte’s methodology and ensure that the firm’s methodology adhered to during the deployment.
  • Escalate project issues to Project Manager including scope variations, task slippages and risks that may arise during the project.
  • Provide relevant training and knowledge sharing opportunities for members of the Implementation Team, this can include informal on-the-job training to facilitating formal SAP training courses.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and time management skills, ability to work across various projects, ability to lead a team of consultants to effectively implement a solution
  • Teamwork, work collaboratively with others to achieve group goals, working together to accomplish business results.

 

 

 

 

MUST-HAVE Skills and Experience

 

  • SAP Certification in version 4.6 or above
  • Expertise in and knowledge of Canadian Payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP in HR/ Payroll configuration and design including schemas, enterprise and personnel structures, wage types, work schedules etc.
  • Previous experience leading SAP Payroll implementation projects.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards specifically design and implementation of posting to accounting from payroll.
  • Analytical thinking/problem solving skills work systematically and logically to resolve problems, address opportunities or manage the situation at hand, identify causes, relationships and implications.
  • Ability to use tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Project and Visio to effectively update and maintain documentation/ training/ demonstrations.
  • At least 10 years relevant work experience.
  • Strong business acumen with solid analytical skills and conceptual thinking - ability to synthesize information and present it back in an articulated fashion.
