Job Description

As an Non-Volatile Quality Reliability Assurance Engineer you will be  working on quality issues at Micron Technology, you will be responsible for managing the quality and reliability of NAND materials and providing input during MRB review and technical risk assessments. In this role you will supply plans for reliability testing and analysis of deviated materials, RMA, and customer issues. You will also become familiar with Micron qualification flows and the different failure modes associated with 2D and 3D NAND products. You will be expected to provide clear and concise input and communication to multiple engineering teams (local and global) and business units. You will also be asked to gain new product knowledge, as well as develop and mentor new talent.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Attend MRB for deviated Product

  • Provide Technical risk assessments
  • Collection and analysis of BE and reliability data
  • Assist in containment of deviated product
  • Provide final disposition of affected materials

RMA and Customer Requests

  • Assist in the analysis of RMA materials
  • Learn EFA and PFA necessary for the analysis of failures
  • Help with root cause and preventative actions
  • Provide technical reports and communication to customers

Assist in Product Qualification Activities

  • Help define qualification plans
  • Facilitate and manage qualification
  • Comprehend failures within the scope of qualification
  • Perform risk assessment at key decision points within the qualification cycle

Provide Expertise and Consultation on Quality-Related Topics

  • Support Global Qual. Meetings
  • Assist in the development, mentoring, and training of new team members
  • Interface with various engineering team on quality issues
  • Maintain and develop product knowledge


  • BSEE or MSEE or related field of study


  • 5-years in the area of device physics, quality, product qualification, or related field


  • Background in semiconductor processing, device physics, semiconductor reliability, and device characterization
  • Knowledge of NAND Flash structure and operation, typical product failure modes, and reliability mechanisms
  • Strong knowledge of statistical concepts relevant to semiconductor quality and reliability
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • The ability to work with people from diverse technical backgrounds and be a tam player
  • Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office, scripting languages, and statistical analysis software
