Blount International, Inc. has an exceptional opportunity for a Consolidation Specialist (Shipping Department) at our North American Distribution Center located at 10331 NW Transcon Drive, Kansas City, Missouri 64153.

BUSINESS CONTRIBUTION:

To consolidate completed picking orders from multiple zones in order to finalize preparation of outgoing shipments. Once completeness of picking is confirmed, shipments are moved from consolidation to shipping dock.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Consolidate shipments utilizing RF scanner and SAP transactions to nest carton handling units to match placement of cartons on pallets.
  • Use SAP transactions to update Consolidation screens to indicate waive assignments; Read and follow instructions on customer waive sheet, specific to shipping order; Check shipment to ensure completeness.
  • Work with a variety of departments and personnel to resolve issues; Interact with Shipping Office to determine priorities, customer information, and to obtain shipping advice; Respond to audit requests to troubleshoot shipping issues
  • Complete quality checks generated by the system to weigh and verify accuracy.
  • Create address labels using RF units.
  • Complete daily 6S Checklists
  • Document procedures and train others as needed

 

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or nationally recognized regionally accredited equivalent required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Experience within a distribution environment preferred
  • Experience utilizing a computer-based warehouse management system, SAP or similar Tier-1 ERP preferred
  • Experience using personal computer, including Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a sit-down forklift
  • Ability to frequently lift 35 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds
  • Demonstrated commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
  • English fluency for safety, training and documentation purposes
  • Stable work history with good employment references
  • Excellent attendance record

 

HOURS OF WORK:

Must be available for the following shift(s):

  • Second Shift:     8-hour shift Monday - Friday: 3:30pm - 12:00am
  • Second Shift:   10-hour shift Monday - Friday: 3:30pm - 2:00am

Overtime may be required according to business needs, upon giving reasonable notice.
