POSITION SUMMARY:

Manage investment portfolios to maximize return commensurate by providing equity and fixed-income analysis for assigned industries and sector.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3 years investment experience managing fixed and equity investments for personal trust and institutional portfolios
  • Good understanding of equity and fixed-income securities and market operations
  • Continue to increase investment knowledge through Chartered Financial Analyst program, seminars, and conferences
  • Proficient in use of computer-based work tools
  • Good verbal and written communication skills      
  • Position may require the need to travel to other branch or meeting locations.                                            

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work towards completion of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation   
  • Manage investment portfolios to maximize return commensurate with an acceptable level of risk
  • Responsible for being the liason with the custodian for opening client accounts, as well as being the back up for daily reconciliation of our Axys system and for trading when the trader is out of the office
  • Consult with client to develop investment objectives, review investment performance, and provide investment guidance related to tax consequences, investment strategies, and specific asset information
  • Assist with overall investment management by providing equity and fixed-income analysis for assigned industries and sectors
  • Keep abreast of developments in the securities and capital markets
  • Provide advice and guidance to Portfolio Assistants
  • Participate in all required training sessions for compliance
  • Maintain adequate controls to ensure compliance with consumer protection statutes/regulations in a defined area of responsibility
  • Implement bank-directed policy and changes relating to regulatory amendments.
  • Complete RFPs
  • Evaluate new software programs
