Founders Chair in Venture Capital and Entrepreneurial Finance

The Department of Finance in the School of Business Administration at The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) is seeking qualified applicants for the new Founders Chair in Venture Capital and Entrepreneurial Finance. This position is supported in part by a new $2 million endowment. Candidates will be considered at the full, associate, or late assistant professor ranks.

 

Duties: To teach entrepreneurial finance and venture capital courses and to perform duties assigned by the Dean of the School of Business Administration and Chair of the Department of Finance. The normal teaching load for this position for a research-active faculty member is 2/2 (6 credit hours per each semester, Fall and Spring).

Required Qualifications: To be considered for this position, the applicant must have an earned doctorate degree in finance from an AACSB accredited or well-regarded business program and a distinguished record of teaching and research in venture capital and entrepreneurial finance with an active and ongoing research agenda aimed at high-quality publications in top-level journals.

Salary competitive and commensurate with the high level of this position. Faculty have the option to teach summer courses for additional pay subject to course and funding availability. This endowed position also provides a substantial annual research budget.
