Quality Assurance Analyst

Leggett & Platt, Incorporated (NYSE: LEG) is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst for Western Pneumatic Tube in Kirkland, WA, specializing in aerospace tubing.  This position reports to the Quality Manager and will support production through quality testing. The ideal candidate will enjoy a fast-paced and team-oriented environment, and have strong communications skills.


  • Coordinate and test raw materials/final products on a daily basis
  • Document nonconforming reports for any raw material, product, or processes in collaboration with the production personnel
  • Perform audits of the quality system, report findings, and recommend improvements
  • Assist in performing root cause analysis and corrective actions for nonconforming products or processes.
  • Assist in maintaining industry and customer standards, communicate changes to pertinent departments, and ensure their implementations.
  • Communicate with production department to ensure first piece and final inspections are performed in a timely manner.
  • Review and accept raw material, new and completed work orders, and approve certificates of conformance for customer shipping
  • Assists in administering welders, final inspectors, and hydrostatic pressure exams.
  • Maintains eye exam log for welders, final inspectors, and NDT personnel.
  • Review customer purchase orders as well as purchase orders for outside services.
  • Maintain calibration program of all measuring tools.



  • Bachelor's degree required (Metallurgical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Engineer degrees are preferred)
  • One or two years of relevant work experience is preferred
  • Experience with quality testing and synthesizing results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic understanding and strong personal focus on laboratory safety protocols
  • Proficiency in MS Office software - MS Excel & Access required
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Familiarity with quality testing / inspection tools and procedures
  • Problem-solving, attention to detail, strong organizational skills
