Merck's Research Labs is currently recruiting for intern students within the Biologics Analytical Sciences and Process Development groups. For 2019, (4) internship positions across biologics bioprocess development are available.  In this role, the student will work toward some or all of the following goals and objectives: 
  • Advance research towards the development of novel Biotherapeutics with vision towards Clinical and Commercialization
  • Enable innovative biotechnology initiatives for process development, analytical characterization, and pilot scale production
  • Support bioprocess development research activities supporting cell line, upstream, downstream and operations groups
  • Develop structure function analytical methodologies to product and process characterization
This is a full-time internship position. Housing subsidy is not available for this position and must be funded 100% by the student. 


  • Required: Candidates must be currently pursuing a minimum of a bachelor's degree in chemical or biological engineering, biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or a related discipline.
Required Experience and Skills:
  • Candidates must be available to work full-time for up to (12) consecutive weeks beginning in May or June of 2019.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
  • Candidates should have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
