Popular Insurance Sales - NY Metro

We are currently searching for a Financial Consultant with strong investment sales experience to join our dynamic Popular Investments team!  This is a commission-based position only.
 

In this position, you will:

  • Build and manage a portfolio of HNW/UHNW clients who are exclusively enrolled in Popular Private Client, defined as clients with total investable assets > $500,000. Target clients should have a minimum of $500,000 of AUM on us.
     
  • Proactively provide comprehensive wealth management advice and solutions including, but not limited to, strategic asset allocation recommendations, multi-generational estate and tax planning, cash flow analysis and budgeting, and credit and risk management. Also be able to articulate tactical adjustments for client investment portfolios.
     
  • Build multi-generational relationships with client families, providing estate and financial planning advice, next-generation education, legacy planning as well as advising on philanthropic and charitable goals of family.
     
  • Acquire a significant percentage of new self-sourced business from outside the Popular Private Client network by having a well-established reputation as a top advisor in market, by being very active in the community, and by ability to comfortably prospect in target market.
     
  • Develop strong, mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external referral sources and centers of influence.
     
  • Generate referrals from existing clients.
     

To be considered, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Preferred: MBA, CPA, or JD.
     
  • FINRA Series 7, 63 and 65 (or 66), and NY State Life and Health Insurance licensing required.  
     
  • Required: At least 5 years of experience in sales and relationship management of HNW/UHNW, or Private Banking clients.
     
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
     
  • Advanced knowledge of investment, estate and tax planning, credit and risk management, financial planning and cash flow analysis, and partners with other Private Client team members for implementation of solutions. Advanced knowledge of the comprehensive suite of Wealth Management financial solutions and products.
     
  • Extraordinary sales professional with expert sales, client management, and client service skills with the ability to sell a wide range of products and services with a proven track record of success, particularly with respect to developing a high level of expertise in providing financial advice concerning managed money portfolios and advisory related business.
     
  • Excellent investment knowledge and the ability to discuss tax and financial planning issues with clients including multi-generational estate planning concepts.
     
  • Assertive in asking for business, developing leads and developing referral sources which includes Centers of Influence.
     
  • Well-organized and flexible; able to adapt to change as well as determine and focus on top priorities in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
     
  • World class communicator with ability to take abstract concepts and communicate to a client in a way they can relate to and understand. 
     
  • Superior skill set in identifying and talking about implementation of advice. Technical expertise to consistently explain rationale behind the recommendations.
     
  • Entrepreneurship, multi-year approach to building a business. Highly self-motivated. Develop thoughtful marketing strategies and execution capabilities that consistently fill business development pipeline with qualified prospects.
     
  • Exceptional listener allowing advisor to tailor recommendation to address client’s needs.
     
  • A consistently high level of professionalism and executive presence. Bring a true passion to the business of delivering financial advice to clients. Strong team player who is able to lead a team of professionals in serving clients.
