Job Description
Reeves Construction Company is looking for Heavy Equipment Operators for its St. Augustine/Jacksonville, Florida location. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively operate a Bulldozer, Loader or Excavator to achieve desired goals of the plans and specifications specific to the job.
Job Responsibilities 
  • Adhere to Reeves Construction Company safety programs to ensure safe work environment
  • Monitors all steps of the operation to ensure Standard Quality and Operating Practices and guidelines are being followed
  • Knowledge of how to operate a Bulldozer, Loader or Excavator
  • Spread dirt in fill areas,finish dress to plan specifications, load material from stockpiles or excavations, finish grade with a loader, experience with material handling
  • GPS machine control knowledge
  • Backfill trenches/excavations
  • Apply caution digging around underground utilities and overhead wires
  • Ability to assist with the maintenance and normal operating adjustments to the equipment
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employees must have 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses. Hearing should be excellent or corrected by audio device. Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
Requirements 
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Strong knowledge of plans and specifications, OSHA Trenching Requirements, Safety Protocol
  • Candidate must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to work in a number of diverse locations is pertinent, as work locations may change daily.
  • Expected Hours: Hours will vary by job, location and season. Working a night shift may be required.
  • Six months to one year experience operating the equipment
  • Must have a current and valid driver’s licenses
  • Must have adequate transportation to work
  • Adhere to safety procedures/guidelines at all times
  • Punctuality, consistent attendance and self-direction for the success of the operations
