Description
Summary: Reporting to the Senior Companion Program Project Director, the Project Coordinator provides overall support to the Senior Companion Program (SCP). This includes data entry, conducting orientation/training for new volunteers, overseeing the daily operations of the program, managing, and preparing timesheets, and other duties as assigned by the Project Director. The Project Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all programming supports the mission of Catholic Charities and is in compliance with the strategic direction of the agency as determined by the Board of Directors and the Bishop of the Diocese of Fresno.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Implement the mission, vision, and values of Catholic Charities.
- Maintains a climate that attracts, keeps, and motivates qualified professionals and volunteers.
- Foster effective communication with other CCDOF staff members.
- Plans, organizes staff, directs, and implements programs/services in conjunction with the Project Director to meet Senior Companion Program goals and outcomes.
- Adheres and implements Internal Control Policies of the Senior Companion Program.
- Enter client data into Apricot Software.
- Recruit, screen, and conduct orientation training for new volunteers.
- Schedule and conduct placement interviews with client, caregiver, and/or case manager, and volunteer to ensure appropriate placement.
- Manage and monitor volunteers assigned to CCDOF station and those volunteers whose stations have closed.
- Oversee day-to-day office functions.
- Operate within the allocated program budget, prepare monthly stipend payroll, manage timesheets/mileage, and prepare stipend report.
- Maintain the database for volunteers, clients, and community contacts.
- Work within the Federal Guidelines and the AmeriCorps Seniors SCP Service Handbook.
- Coordinate recognition activities for Senior Companion Program volunteers.
- Track progress of participant work plans and initiate change when appropriate.
- Attend meetings, outreach, and purchase and load supplies for meetings.
Hires, trains and supervises office staff and recruits and trains volunteers.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Project Coordinator is responsible for overall volunteer supervision of the AmeriCorps Seniors Senior Companion Program.
The recruitment, training and development of SCP volunteers fall under the Project Coordinator’s duties. Individual must carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable federal and state laws.

Qualifications
A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in nonprofit, social services, or elderly focused environment. Relevant experience will be considered that demonstrates leadership in the management of complex and dynamic organizations as well as broad exposure to organizational and fiscal management. A proven track record in general office management, community relations, case management, budgeting and fiscal management, supervision and human resources management is highly preferred.
Education and/or Experience
An undergraduate degree or an AA from an accredited college or university.
Language Skills
Ability to write reports and to communicate effectively both verbally and written. Bilingual Spanish/English
Mathematical Skills
Ability to budget, interpret and analyze financial statements. Payroll, mileage, and timesheet experience a plus.
Computer Skills
Must be able to use Microsoft Office especially Word and Excel as well as e-mail and Internet tools.
Other
The position requires the use of reliable transportation and may require the use of personal vehicle. Must have current valid Driver’s License, car insurance and reliable vehicle.
Must be willing to undergo and pass background check thru DOJ, FBI, and NSOPW.

Also, employees may occasionally be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include depth perception, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
