Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Ohio nursing jobs)
  
• Unit: Med/Surg Telemetry Oncology
  
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
  
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 01/05/2026 – End: 04/06/2026)
  
• Shifts: 12-hour rotating shifts (Day: 07:00–19:30 / Night: 19:00–07:30), 3 shifts per week
  
• Hours per Week: 36
  
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
  
• Comprehensive Orientation: 72 hours
  
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1940 - $1990
  

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
  
• Active Registered Nurse license (compact RN license or Ohio state RN license)
  
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required
  
• EPIC electronic charting experience required
  
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  
• Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
  
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions considered)
  
• Two professional references (one from a nurse manager, director, or formal nursing leadership)
  

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to adults and geriatric patients with oncology and cardiac conditions
  
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring, especially during chemotherapy administration
  
• Manage symptoms related to disease progression and treatment side effects
  
• Implement infection prevention protocols and manage comorbidities
  
• Utilize advanced clinical equipment: B450 monitors, GE telemetry system, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds
  
• Interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases (ABGs)
  
• Access ports, manage arterial and central lines, and provide PICC line care
  
• Initiate and maintain IVs; assist with chest tube insertion and removal
  
• Administer blood products and high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) therapy
  
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: Physical Therapy, Respiratory, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and more
  
• Float to other Med/Surg Oncology units as needed to support patient care
