The Mobile Business Unit (MBU) is responsible for the development, marketing and execution of memory products for the Mobile Market. Micron’s Mobile products serve a dynamic, growing market of High-End Smart Phones, Tablets, Value Smart Phones and Smart Wireless-Enabled Wearables. As an MBU Business Operations Intern at Micron Technology, you will be part of a team that manages the strategic planning of Micron’s mobile products as well as the development and execution of MBU’s Business Plan.

 

The MBU Business Operations Intern will be involved in continuous improvement activities related to:

  • Organization of inputs to the Sales and Operations Planning process (S&OP).
  • Improvements to the decision making tools and processes for the output and response to the Sales and Operations Planning monthly function.
  • Documentation of current processes and recommendation of process improvements focused on transparency of process and result, reliability and accuracy, and efficacy.
  • Developing financial and operational metrics and goals to be included in the plan and used as a tool for measuring progress to plan throughout the fiscal year.
  • Supply-Demand-Inventory balancing activities, including stocking keeping unit (SKU) and manufacturing planning group (MPG) reduction efforts.

 

During the internship, the MBU Business Operations Intern will:

  • Work closely with the MBU Business Planning team to develop a 3-year Business Plan. This includes close interaction with sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain teams.
  • Evaluate financial tradeoffs between different scenarios such as risk, supply variation, product schedules, and pricing sensitivity analysis.
  • Assist with the development of supporting material to review the Business Plan with MBU and Micron executives to collect their input and ultimately their approval.
  • Assist with the creation of business processes and tools to monitor operational activities and drive operational metrics to plan/goals

 

Qualifications:

  • Very strong analytical and data skills, ability to synthesize large amounts of quantitative and qualitative information and translate into meaningful business strategies.
  • Advanced level of expertise with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook. Intermediate to advanced abilities with Excel Pivot Tables. Experience with PowerPivot, PowerQuery, Microsoft BI Stack, Tableaus, and SharePoint is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
  • Ability to see the big picture while paying attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with internal stakeholders within the Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance and Sales that span multiple geographies.

 

Education:

  • Major/Focus in Business, Management, Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Intelligence and Data Management disciplines preferred.
