As a Shift Manufacturing Industrial Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc. in Manassas, VA, you will be part of the Shift Operations Team responsible for analyzing and optimizing the performance of the entire fab. The MIE will be responsible for working with all process areas to ensure there are adequate tools released, to enable CT of all parts in the fab to hit our output commitments.


You will apply industrial engineering concepts to:

  • Line management.
  • Identify potential area constraints which may impact fab efficiency and product cycle time.
  • Strive to ensure weekly output targets are met.
  • Identify and act upon opportunities to minimize encumbered WIP.
  • Capacity analysis.
  • Scheduling and production planning.
  • Work with management to develop applications to continuously improve production metrics.
  • Validate model accuracy (process flow, model metrics, tool of record).
  • Working knowledge of Planning systems and processes (PDM, Capacity Buckets, MICAP, MORs, CCBs, MSRs, etc.,).



Qualified candidates will have:

  • Strong data analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communications.
  • Ability to influence others using a variety of approaches with or without positional authority.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to embrace business volatility and handle ambiguity.
  • Good time management and networking skills.
  • Good understanding of the semiconductor process flow, structure and functions.
  • Project management experience, leading and directing projects.
  • Serve as a point of contact for any safety related issues on shift, and during any evacuation event.



  • BS degree in an engineering discipline, or equivalent work experience.
