Under close supervision, operate machinery within the Tool Grinding Team and performs setups with little or no assistance.  Work cooperatively to maintain production and quality standards as defined by Warn Automotive tool drawings, verbal instruction and team leader directives.  Follows well-established guidance from specified process instructions and verbalized instructions from other team members.  Problem solves individually or as part of a group as job duties require.  May be responsible for some training as necessary once trained/qualified. 



  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Four or more years machine shop experience or technical school equivalent preferred.
  • Four or more years verifiable tool grinding experience or technical school equivalent required.
  • Work safely and without injury.
  • Build, inspect, and maintain various tools such as flat form tools, dovetail tools, circular form tools, milling cutters, reamers, drills, fixtures and gauges as necessary.
  • Ensure that all tools are sharp and ready for service.
  • Operate tool-grinding machinery in safe manner.
  • Maintain high quality of tools produced using established tool grinding inspection methods.
  • Maintains accuracy on job associated paperwork (broach history card, PR, PO).
  • Protects and maintains company tooling and gauges.
  • Performs daily preventative maintenance and clean up on machinery and work area.
  • Builds new and replacement tools and maintains as necessary.
  • May participate in Warn Automotive’s selection process as necessary.
  • Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled.
  • May be required to work overtime.
  • Accountable for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance in assigned area.  Responsible for design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, including a self-assessment and report to management.
  • Accountable for developing and monitoring processes and practices necessary for legal and ethical compliance in assigned area.
