Engineer II Project Support

The successful candidate will provide on-site technical support to Mill of the Future (MOF) Proof of Concept (POC) mills during the development of the Millwide Advanced Process Control (APC) initiative and the rollout of two Advanced Analytics tools (Braincube and Simca-Online).  The candidate will support for rollout of Advanced Analytics will expand to multiple IP facilities as part of this enterprise-wide initiative. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will support the construction of Advanced Analytics and Millwide APC systems by:

  • downloading PI tags using the MI-Assist tool, configure tags in Braincube and assist with the PDP
  • configuring tags in the Braincube System
  • assist with PDP for Millwide APC
  • assist with initial application of the Statistical Process Management System, the new IP-GMS element for variability reduction
  • download PI tags for developing SIMCA models; and may be involved in developing SIMCA  models for potential application in SIMCA-Online (depending on skills)

 

ORGANIZATION AND ASSIGNMENT DETAILS:

3-4 project positions will be part of the Global Technology organization, reporting to the Group Manager of Innovative Solutions, with a dotted line relationship to the Mill of the Future coordinator at the facility they support.  Initial assignments will be at the Prattville and Franklin mills.  This is a multi-year project assignment, and candidates should be willing to commit at least two years to this role in order to leverage their learning as multiple facilities implement Mill of the Future initiatives.  

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required (any discipline)
  • Minimum of two years’ paper  mill experience as a REACH engineer, with rotations on both front and back ends
