Associate Manager, Internal Controls

Danone North America is looking for a Associate Manager, Internal Controls in White Plains.

The Danone North America business services team seeks an Internal Control Associate Manager for the White Plains, NY and Broomfield, Colorado offices. You will be part of the North America Internal Control team responsible to partner with all the business units (e.g. Dannon, White Wave, Danone Waters of America, Happy Family, Vega etc.) and all their functions to ensure there is a robust and effective internal control process in place.

The role focuses on operational processes, with the objective to promote process efficiency by executing continuous improvement across all the business functions.

 

Objectives of the role

  • Evaluate, improve, and promote efficiency through operational and financial controls across all North American business units.
  • Standardize and harmonize business processes while challenging the status quo and driving improvements aligned with business objectives.
  • Partner and engage the BPO (Business Process Owner) network through consultation and training to help solve procedural or design issues by being aware of day to day activities and projects while ensuring internal control facilitates efficiency.
  • Participate in internal and external audits.  Coordinate, facilitate and advise the business functions on the design of action plans for remediation of deficiencies identified by internal and /or external audit.
  • Active member in projects teams to guide them in internal control matters as new processes are developed.
  • Report internal control results, findings, and action plans status to functions’ leadership on a regular basis and ensure their support on internal control priorities
  • Ensure adequate segregation of duties and assess compensatory controls for exceptions.
  • Ensure a comprehensive set of formalized and up-to-date process documentation is maintained by the BPO (e.g. procedures, policies, flowcharts, etc.).

  • Able to analyze, synthesize, and creatively present information.
  • Able to make proposals and challenge different levels of the hierarchy (Director, VP).
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously to meet changing organizational and departmental needs.
  • Able to work collaboratively with all departments and management levels within the company.

 

Experience & qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, management, operations, industrial engineering or closely related field required.
  • Auditing experience in public accounting and/or corporate internal audit preferred.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • SAP experience a plus.
