Rail Control Solutions (RCS) is Bombardier Transportation’s signaling division. RCS is focused on optimizing the flow of trains and delivering innovative signaling systems which enable the safe and efficient operation of autonomous rail networks and trains.

Located in Pittsburgh, PA, as a Project Manager you will manage all resources and activities required to successfully deliver rail signaling projects for Bombardier Transportation’s Rail Control Solutions (RCS) Division. You will ensure that project delivery is on time and within budget to support customer needs and maximize profitability.

In your role you will:

- Manage a project team to execute and deliver projects on time and within budget
- Establish and manage schedules, plans, and budgets consistent with the customer’s requirements and proposed project financials;
- Oversee day-to-day progress, provide status reports, and review and approve deliverables;
- Develop and implement plans (for example, the Risk/Opportunity database) to improve project results beyond established budgets and results;
- Monitor, control, and report monthly all financial aspects of the project consistent with the contract requirements and established project management procedures to attain established goals;
- Recommend and initiate changes to or corrective actions for commercial issues, product design, manufacturing and/or services to assure compliance with contract requirements, and to maintain or improve project performance;
- Establish and maintain customer interfaces to promote, monitor, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction;
- Anticipate and satisfy the customer’s needs, while operating within established policies, procedures and commercial guidelines;
- Develop opportunities for value-add within the areas of project management.


As our ideal candidate:

- You possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline; a Master’s degree will be considered an asset;
- You possess a minimum of five (5) years of experience in project/program management or as a site general manager;
- You have five (5) years of project/program or site leadership experience within a technical/engineering environment e.g. power, water, industrial, civil, etc.;
- Experience within the rail industry will be considered a strong asset;
- A PMP certification will be considered an asset;
- You demonstrate success with keeping projects on schedule and within budget;
- You demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office and other internet applications;
- You have the ability to manage large amounts of information;
- You can operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams;
- You possess a background in understanding and implementing customer requirements:
- You possess strong organizational and prioritization skills;
- You demonstrate critical attention to detail and deadlines, and are self-motivated;
- You possess the ability to adapt well to change in direction and priorities in a project and deadline-oriented environment;
- You demonstrate strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Additional information: The person in this position must be able to travel domestically or internationally, approximately 20% as business needs require.
