Adjunct Instructor - eMedia Technology @ UC Blue Ash

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College Electronic Media Communications Department invites applications for our Adjunct Instructor – eMedia Technology (eMedia) pool of candidates from which part time faculty will be selected for upcoming terms (as needed). UC Blue Ash is the largest regional college in Ohio and one of the largest colleges at the University of Cincinnati.  We are an open access college and offer primarily associate degrees with an enrollment of approximately 5100 students. All applicants for this position must be proficient in English, have strong communication skills, and be effective classroom facilitators who enjoy teaching in a culturally diverse, student-centered environment.

 

eMedia Adjunct Faculty responsibilities include: teaching a variety of freshman and sophomore level eMedia classes, depending on candidates’ expertise.  Courses to be staffed include Media Design Foundations I & II, Photography I & II, Video Production I, Web Design I & II, Animation I & II (2D), 3D Modeling & Texture, 3D Light & Motion, Interactive Design, Applied Media Methods. Adjunct faculty members will be expected to (1) use our course management system (Blackboard) and any textbook-specific systems; (2) hold regular office hours; and (3) participate in at least one professional development workshop per year.  Some courses may be offered during the day while others are scheduled in the evening. Teaching is assigned on an as-needed, semester-by-semester basis. Office hours are required in order to meet with students as needed.

 

Minimum Qualifications:  A master's degree in media technology or a related field.

 

Ideal Qualifications:  A minimum of 2 years of experience in professional media design and production with 1-2 years successful college teaching experience.
