Measurement Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of the Measurement Analyst position is to analyze, interpret, and validate measurement data directly related to MarkWest assets. The position will be responsible for identifying problems with measurement data and determining potential solutions. In addition, the position will provide support, when needed, for upstream and downstream business groups.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Obtain and input measurement data into various spreadsheets and associated measurement applications.
• Run reports and prepare data needed to evaluate the accuracy of measurement data.
• Review measurement data for completeness, trends, discrepancies, and other anomalies.
• Analyze and interpret measurement data, and make corrections when necessary.
• File hard copy and electronic measurement data.
• Work in conjunction with downstream business units and third party companies to receive and/or provide third party volume information. 
• Update and maintain measurement balances.
• Assist in testing and troubleshooting the measurement system and related processes. 
• Update and maintain desk procedures related to assigned assets.
• Perform special projects as directed by management.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Required:
o High school degree (or equivalent). 
o 1 year of measurement related experience.
o Basic knowledge of measurement principles.
o Strong knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel. 
o Ability to organize and manage work according to deadlines.
o Ability to relay questions with regards to data review.
o Ability to shift focus and comfortably cope with change.
o Ability to analyze data.
o Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
o Ability to work in both a collaborative team and individual environment. 
o History of customer service and interaction. 
o Positive attitude.


• Preferred:
o BS degree in Accounting, Engineering, Physical Sciences, or other related field.
o Basic knowledge of measurement equipment, and pipeline and plant operations.
o Strong math skills.
o Strong analytical skills.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Physical Demands:

Requires sitting throughout most of the day, interspersed with short trips throughout the office.

Working Environment:

You will work primarily in an office environment.

Materials and Equipment Used:

You will use a personal computer, phone, fax and copier.
