Emergency Management Coordinator

PeaceHealth is seeking a Emergency Management Coordinator for a 1.0 full time equivalent Exempt position. This position will be working Day shift with shift durations of 8 Hours.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Ensures a coordinated approach to emergency management through collaboration county, state and regional agencies, local emergency management personnel and public and private sector agencies.
2. Acts as a primary contact by representing PeaceHealth on county, state and regional councils/committees focusing on emergency management, public safety, and emergency communications. Helps ensure compliance with Washington State laws, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and regulatory bodies governing the emergency management program.
3. Leads coordination of funding efforts by preparing and submitting grant proposals for federal emergency grant awards. Ensures compliance with county, state and federal requirements.

4. Establish and maintain communication between external agencies and internal leaders and caregivers.
5. Updates, maintains, and presents the Emergency Management Plan and Hazard Vulnerability Assessments (HVAs) for Center Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS) and other regulatory agencies.
6.  Leads and coordinates the Emergency Preparedness committee for all PeaceHealth facilities for their respective Network. Schedules and conducts Incident Command Trainings. Helps ensure that assigned PeaceHealth facilities have an effective and trained incident command staff.
7. Communicates and coordinates external Emergency Preparedness training opportunities offered by state and federal agencies to staffs and senior leadership. Assists local jurisdictional agencies with coordinating trainings and Emergency Management drills with PeaceHealth facilities.
8 Leads and coordinates the conception of, drafting, executing, documentation, and debriefing emergency drills.  Assists individual units in meeting proprietary regulatory Emergency Preparedness drill requirements.
9. Assists Incident Command Staff in effective functionality and operations during and after activation.  Provides guidance, data and incident analysis, documentation, debrief review, and feedback to leadership and other command staff.
10. Inventories, tracks, and maintains emergency management and decontamination supplies and equipment.
11. Performs other related duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: 

• Associate's degree in emergency planning, preparedness, management, administration, homeland security or public safety required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.


EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

• Minimum three years of experience in emergency preparedness in a healthcare environment or incident command systems (ICS) required.

OTHER SKILLS: 

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent presentation skills and ability to effectively facilitate training.
• Ability to professionally interact and collaborate with multiple external regulatory agencies and all levels of internal leadership and caregivers.
• Ability to analyze/problem solve high-level issues during high stress emergent situations.
• Ability to coordinate small and large scale Emergency Preparedness Exercises.
• Computer skills to include MS Office Suite and the Internet.
• Well-organized and highly detail oriented.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team, to set and manage multiple priorities, to use independent judgment and to make decisions related to departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
