Machine Setup Operator

Primary Function

The Set-Up Operator will initiate operations in accordance with customer requirements and monitor performance to optimize production processes.  Set-Up Operator will be expected to learn multiple setup positions to help support the department while others are out and the cross training program.

We have an immediate need for Machine Setup Operators for 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts at our Franklin, TN facility.  Starting pay $16.08 per hour.

Responsibilities

Role Specific Responsibilities

  1. Determine sequence of operations by studying blueprints, specifications, and work orders.
  2. Regulate machine by setting and adjusting controls.
  3. Prepare machines for production by positioning and securing dies, stops and guides.
  4. Observe operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined work piece to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
  5. Participate in continued education and training sessions as required
  6. Utilize computer system to obtain necessary production information.
  7. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must successfully achieve an acceptable score on a Mechanical Aptitude Test within a one-hour time limit.
  • Must be able to work from a production schedule.
  • Must be able to use basic hand tools.
  • Must be a self-starter and be capable of working independently
  • Must be capable of maintaining the higher production rates associated with automatic equipment while maintaining APCOM’s quality standards.
  • Ability to understand and comply with all safety requirements
  • Ability to follow work instructions for all operations in the designated department
  • Ability to lift 65 lbs. with or without assistance.

Education

High School Diploma or GED
