Our global technical services firm is seeking a Principal Solutions Architect to provide vision and strategy oversight for our program to advance digital project delivery. The ideal candidate will have solid industry knowledge and experience, and a documented history of assisting similar organizations to realize measurable benefits through Building Information Modeling (BIM) and digital transformation. You will be a natural communicator who can engage at all levels within our company and those of our clients, to assess requirements, make recommendations, gain consensus and communicate results. You will be motivated by the desire to achieve improved business outcomes through the application of digital approaches in a risk-managed environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess industry and technology trends to establish strategies for advancing digital project delivery aligned to improved safety, productivity and cost objectives
  • Evaluate short-term or long-term priorities, and develop actionable plans to address
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, clients, solution vendors and end users to identify business requirements and translate these into technical solution specifications
  • Leverage external industry knowledge, standards and advances to further internal objectives
  • Analyze situational information to identify and address potential challenges and risks
  • Present strategies and articulate recommendations to stakeholders at all corporate levels
  • Formulate detailed plans, schedules and budgets for implementation of recommendations
  • Maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure and report initiative progress
  • Provide guidance on organizational implications from digital transformation
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and proposals for client engagements
  • Participate in project assignments for external clients, through consulting or direct secondment
  • Stay abreast of market directions and competitor capabilities

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in engineering and computer science is desirable
  • 20+ years of experience in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects
  • Extensive knowledge of integrated discipline work processes and supplier interfaces
  • Familiarity with industry data standards, platform and integration architecture, engineering software applications and databases
  • Understanding of asset data and document requirements at project and facility lifecycle stages
  • Proven experience in project management of technology implementation initiatives
  • Solid knowledge of data analysis and research techniques
  • Familiarity with common business software and project management programs
  • Able to develop and present detailed, actionable proposals and plans within mandated deadlines
  • Strong communication, facilitation and organizational skills
  • Aptitude for analytical and creative thinking
  • Excellent listening skills and ability to interface with professionals in various disciplines
