SSD Firmware Engineer Intern

As a Firmware Engineer in controller FW team at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for the development and implementation of new HW feature/modules in the software simulator to model the HW and help on earlier firmware feature development. You will test and debug the new features in a variety of development stages. You will contribute to support FW integration in software simulator environment in system-level design concepts to help on FW development. When HW design and implementation are completed, you will work with the hardware/firmware team to bring-up and validate new designs in module level and full data path.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Review and understand hardware arch/feature design for SSD controller.
  • Understand and be able to define software simulator model framework for multiple-CPU SSD controller.
  • Add new arch/features design in simulator models to support new HW design.
  • Work with FW team to integrate FW into simulator, and to make sure the FW flow is correct by using simulator.
  • Add any missing feature in simulator that FW need.
  • Work with HW team to bring-up and validate the new features in HW platform with FW developed by using simulator, and fix the FW to work with HW.
  • After validate the new features in HW platform, run FW in simulator and fix any issues in simulator modellings.
  • After fix all simulator model, integrate full FW flow in system-level to run full FW in simulator.
  • Knowledge of C programming language required




Pursuing an M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.

Must be continuing education in Fall of 2019 (Expected graduation date must not be before September 1st 2019).


This internship will be for the Spring/Summer of 2019
