Position Summary:

This position is for a Senior Firmware Engineer with 8+ years of relevant experience. The position requires a self-motivated individual with a strong desire to succeed/excel whose main responsibility is designing and developing firmware for embedded products. As a senior engineer the candidate is expected to take a leading role in design decisions and driving development.  Other responsibilities include following company processes and procedures for firmware development and working closely in a team environment. This individual should have a strong, positive attitude and the ability to easily multitask and provide advice/support to other engineers. They should also possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop C/C++/Java for embedded products.
  • Lead design and architecture decisions by acting as a subject matter expert for targeted technologies.
  • Manage assigned tasks and schedules.
  • Follow engineering standards and procedures for firmware development.
  • Work with a team of engineers to bring new products to market.
  • Able to reproduce, isolate and troubleshoot problems.
  • Work and support others in the organization, as needed.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 years of C/C++ programming experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of Linux development experience.
  • Video over IP development experience is required.
  • RTP, RTCP, IEEE1588 PTP experience.
  • Able to read component datasheets and board schematics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to meet project deadlines.
  • A strong desire to excel in an environment with high-quality engineers.

  • Willingness to work in an office in Richardson, TX
  • Willingness to travel internationally on occasion.
