The Certified Surgical Technologist works under the supervision of the RN in delivering safe and effective care to the patient during the intraoperative period. The surgical technologist possesses expertise in theory and application of aseptic technique and combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures and implementation of tools and technology to prepare for procedures and facilitate the physician’s performance of procedures. Duties of the surgical technologist may be performed in operating rooms, labor and delivery, and other areas where invasive procedures are performed. Duties may include precepting new staff and students.

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

Minimum Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED

Graduate of an approved surgical tech program required.

Minimum Experience Requirements

No previous Experience.

License/Certifications Requirement

Certified Surgical Technologist within 1 year of hire required.

Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Physical Requirements

Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
