Sr Financial Analyst - Healthcare

Grainger is a broad line, business-to-business distributor of maintenance, repair and operating (MRO) supplies and other related products and services. More than 3.2 million businesses and institutions worldwide rely on Grainger for products such as safety gloves, ladders, motors and janitorial supplies, along with services like inventory management and technical support. These customers represent a broad collection of industries including commercial, government, healthcare and manufacturing. They place orders online, on mobile devices, through sales representatives, over the phone and at local branches. Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide financial, strategic and operational decision support to Healthcare VP, Healthcare systems and field seller leadership and Healthcare segment strategy team
  • Understand growth & profitability drivers across the full P&L and assess full organizational impact of decisions in order to provide proactive business counsel 
  • Support the completion of the annual operating plan and short-term and long-term revenue, gross profit and expense forecasts; Assess risks and opportunities against the business plan; Update the business based on current performance 
  • Recognize and communicate the drivers of deviations from budget during monthly presentation to Healthcare function VPs 
  • Develop and continually improve analytical capabilities; Able to work through complex business issues, and provide actionable reporting in order to meet financial and strategic commitments 
  • Collaborate with cross functional project teams related to operating issues or improvement opportunities providing financial expertise as needed
  • Continually improve analytical techniques and forecast accuracy; Automate, refine and improve reporting to reduce data-gathering time and provide actionable analysis and commentary
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as required



Preferred Education & Experience

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance required. 3-7 years of experience in progressive financial roles supporting analytics, business planning, metrics and decision support (GUS Finance)
  • Competency in relevant financial analysis and modeling
  • Ability to develop organizational awareness as well as an understanding of business profitability drivers
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interface effectively with fellow Finance team members and leaders in the business, specifically Director and VP levels
  • Should be comfortable operating within a dynamic and complex organizational structure, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and be effective in a team-oriented environment
  • Able to work both collaboratively and independently as situations dictate
  • Needs to be technologically savvy in order to drive effective means of reporting critical business information
  • Strong work ethic and results orientation required for fast paced, customer-focused environment
