Process Engineer (PERM)

As a Process Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will maintain and sustain Photolithography processes by supporting manufacturing day-to-day activities by responding to production issues and collaborating with the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) Team to implement solutions, and formulate plans with the shift teams.

 

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Respond to production issues and collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) Team to implement a solution, and formulate plans with the shift teams for down tool recovery, problem product lots/SWR lots at step, and quality deviation event recovery.
  • Use statistical process controls and data analysis to support and monitor the performance of Photo tools.  Demonstrate advanced knowledge of fault detection and classification (FDC)/ statistical process control (SPC) /run to run (R2R) and driving area FDC/SPC/R2R metrics. Monitor that appropriate SPC and FDC limits and strategies are in place; provide and document reaction mechanisms. 
  • Drive and initiate excursion and scrap reduction efforts; conduct excursion and quality deviation root cause analysis, scrap understanding or quality deviation follow-up. Understand and address need for cause prevention and symptoms early detection.  Identify needs for margin improvement.
  • Actively support availability improvement projects by collaborating with equipment engineering team.  Assist in periodic review of equipment failure mode severity and occurrence; drive improvement activities.
  • Work with the equipment engineering team to qualify cost saving improvements and help team to make progress on cost projects.
  • Participate in process characterization activities, identify process margin limitation, and drive strategic improvement activities such as process or hardware improvement. Prepare engineering change documentation to support recommended changes.
  • Assist X-functional teams and drive to conclusion complex projects, such as cost, yield, quality and/or output improvements activities, requiring a wide variety of advanced reporting and analysis capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with yield enhancement and process integration team to identify and address process improvements needs to drive new technology yield improvement progress.
  • Assist with complex process development in collaboration with R&D Site and Integration team.
  • Work with representatives from sister fabs, R&D and MCT (Manufacturing Central Team) to assist in transferring new products to our facility.
  • Represent the area in technical meetings such daily yield and quality meeting (YQ), process integration yield focus meeting, defect reduction strategic meeting, etc. Think strategically as required to address longer term issues which will affect site or worldwide process teams.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Knowledge or experience with DOE (design of experiment).
  • Knowledge or experience with semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Knowledge or experience with advanced photolithography.
  • Knowledge or experience with data analysis.
  • Knowledge or experience with SPC (statistical process control).
  • Knowledge or experience with advanced lithography mask/reticle technology.
  • Knowledge or experience with techniques for conducting lithography resolution enhancement.
  • Knowledge or experience with lithography focus exposure matrices (FEM).
  • Knowledge or experience with lithography resist processing.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends, if necessary.
