Product Manager-Advanced Technology Products

PURPOSE:  Primary responsibilities are to support the Advanced Technology Business Unit Leader with new product development, mature product promotion, product positioning and, overall product line management.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Analyze market to understand trends and develop product needs and positioning
  • Provide strategic recommendations to drive the growth of product line
  • Be engaged in new product development in all phases of development from voice of the customer to product launch
  • Support the development of marketing materials designed to motivate sales inquiries
  • Build and maintain relationships with key trade publications
  • Communicate with end users, distributors and Lincoln personnel
  • Work with cross-functional teams including engineering and manufacturing
  • Manage the product line life cycle, including product rationalization
  • Reports to the Strategic Business Unit leader

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS degree in Marketing or Engineering; MBA preferred
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in Sales or Marketing with comprehensive  knowledge of Lincoln products
  • Ability to work on both tactical and strategic projects across disciplines, including Sales, Finance,  Engineering, Manufacturing, R&D, Marketing Communications, Planning, and Customer Service
  • Understanding of welding practices and procedures required
  • Strong understanding of Lincoln products and their applications, Advanced Technology products preferred
  • Familiar with standard concepts of product development and positioning
  • Ability to research the market, analyze customer requirements, and formulate plans for development
  • Ability to write a compelling story that reduces complex  technical issues to easily understood value statements
  • Proven ability to effectively lead others, set deadlines, and develop solutions to propel projects forward
  • Must possess effective communication skills; both verbal and written
  • Proficient in SAP and MS Office including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Willing to travel approximately 25% of the time
