Order Entry Pharmacy Technician (1st Shift) - Louisville

Provides a variety tasks to support assisted living facilities within the organization. This position will be responsible for data entry of prescriptions, customer service, admissions, and collection efforts for a select customer group.  Schedule: M-F, 8am-4:30pm EST with rotating weekend coverage.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Input data via a computer.
  • Prepares source data for computer entry by compiling, sorting and verifying information.
  • Ensures completion of necessary information from entry sheet and medication orders for data entry and account setup in AS400 system.  Review and route documents through Docutrak system to appropriate department.
  • Verify payers and demographic information.  Where applicable, fill in gaps in demographic information
  • Responsible for collection efforts of patient level accounts primarily for private accounts.

     

  • Works with responsible parties, receiving in/out bound telephone calls, providing customer service through explaining why they are being billed and following-up on past due accounts using approved collection techniques.

  • Works with Pharmacy Directors, and Client Billing Services Office (CBSO) to resolve customer concerns/issues.
  • Works with associates in other functional areas, account management representatives and regional operations to resolve customer service problems.
  • Performs customer’s satisfaction calls as needed by the business.
  • Works with other functional areas to resolve customer problems, documents problems in designated database, and notifies appropriate parties of what actions need to be taken.
  • Works under immediate supervision and relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Perform related clerical duties and other tasks as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

  • Required:  High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Required:  One year experience in data entry.
  • Required: One year experience in customer service.
  • Required:  One year experience in retail pharmacy.
  • Desired: Experience with admissions and collections.
  • Required:  Ability to communicate effectively.  Skilled in operating a computer.  Skilled in performing detailed work.
  • Required:  State registered/licensed Pharmacy Technician
  • Desired: National PTCB certification.
  • Required: Detail orientation; Organization and Planning
  • Must be available to work Mon – Fri between the hours of 8am-4:30pm  with rotating weekend coverage
