Deloitte Canada currently employs 35 actuarial professionals who provide a range of services to clients in Canada and abroad. Our Canadian Actuarial, Rewards and Analytics (ARA) team belongs to a global Deloitte network of over 1,000 actuarial professionals working in 43 countries. ARA is part of the firm’s Assurance and Advisory practice, which provides a variety of audit and consulting services.

    Job description


  • Proven ability to understand actuarial concepts, synthesize qualitative analysis, convey this information effectively to a non-technical audience;
  • Ability to manage various priorities, teams and client relationships;
  • Demonstrated capabilities in team work and leadership;
  • Application of actuarial valuation principles and accounting for future pension plans and other benefits;
  • Use of calculation tools for resolving various complex situations;
  • Conduct and enthusiasm for contributing to a growing actuarial practice.

External Posting Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree that includes actuarial sciences/mathematics;
  • Preferably a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries or the ASA designation on the path to becoming a Fellow;
  • 4 or more years of relevant work experience in the area of retirement, including preparation and review of actuarial assessment results;
  • Particular talent for analysis and problem solving;
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teamwork and an ability to work efficiently and independently;
  • A solid understanding of pension fund investment, an asset;
  • Active listening and detail oriented;
  • Ability to learn, apply and communicate actuarial concepts both verbally and in writing;
  • Bilingual (French/English);
  • Comfortable with computer tools, including Microsoft Office Suite.
