Rail Control Solutions (RCS) is Bombardier Transportation’s signaling division. RCS is focused on optimizing the flow of trains and delivering innovative signaling systems which enable the safe and efficient operation of rail networks and trains.

Based in Pittsburgh, PA, as a Signal Engineer you will develop signaling rules using Bombardier’s Computer Based Interlocking (CBI) application. You will be accountable for providing technical and engineering support required for the successful completion of projects.

In your role you will:

- Design, implement and review all the deliverables related to the Computer Based Interlocking (CBI) Application Product;

- Develop software and documentation related to CBI;

- Revise interfaces related to application data from cross-functional teams;

- Partner with work package team members to provide technical guidance;
- Provide resource & time estimates as well as plan for new releases of CBI applications within project;
- Partner with and support Application Engineering Team Lead and Project Engineers to meet project and team objectives;

- Complete all other duties as related to assigned projects.


As our ideal candidate:

- You hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferably software or electrical;
- You possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience in software development and/or database management;
- Experience within the rail industry will be considered a strong asset;
- You demonstrate experience with implementing innovative work-around schemes to resolve engineering/production/testing bottlenecks;
- You demonstrate critical attention to detail and deadlines, and are self-motivated;
- You possess the ability to adapt well to change in direction and priorities in a project and deadline-oriented environment.
- You can operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams;
- You demonstrate strong written and verbal English communication skills;
