Compass Group is selectively recruiting for an ACCOUNTING INTERNSHIP opportunity within Compass’ corporate offices.

 

Date of Internship: Summer; 10 – 12 weeks; 25 hour work week (Monday – Friday)

Location: Charlotte, NC

 

Job Responsibilities:

This position will support the Technical Accounting and Audit Services team with the acquisition accounting, corporate IFRS audit, training and development, accounting research, and technical accounting queries. This position reports to the Manager of Technical Accounting. The position will be based in our Charlotte, NC corporate office. Gain hands-on experience and familiarity with acquisition accounting, IFRS accounting, public company audit processes, implementation of the new revenue and lease standards, and ad hoc projects!

  • Assist in purchase accounting for acquired and divested entities
  • Collect, document and track prepared by client (PBC) records for the annual IFRS audit
  • Research accounting standards to answer technical accounting queries
  • Calculate fair value of acquired intangible assets
  • Assist in monthly accounting close process, which includes accounting entries and reconciliations for acquisitions related accounts
  • Participate planning and coordinating CPE courses
  • Maintain the Technical Accounting Database

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Rising Junior or above majoring in Accounting
  • Ability to work independently and possess strong problem solving skills
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Excel a must
