Overview
Openshift Virtualization Engineer at SS&C Technologies
Location: Australia || Remote. This is a remote position with occasional on-site vendor support as needed; travel and accommodation will be provided.
What You Will Do
- Install, configure, and maintain VMware and OpenShift clusters on-premises.
- Monitor cluster performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
- Manage user access and permissions within the OpenShift environment.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize applications running on OpenShift.
- Create and maintain documentation related to OpenShift configurations and procedures.
- Stay updated with the latest OpenShift and Kubernetes features and best practices.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement best security practices for containerized applications.
- Conversions from VMware to OpenShift.
- Ability to manage a VMware environment.
What You Will Bring
- 4+ years of experience as an OpenShift Virtualization Engineer or similar role.
- Strong understanding of OpenShift and Kubernetes architecture and components.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Groovy.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and processes.
- Knowledge of networking concepts and configurations in a containerized environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- OpenShift or Kubernetes certifications are a plus.
- VMware Certifications a plus.
