Summary:

We need an individual who is organized, detail oriented and able to drive results in the face of ambiguity and challenges. This individual should be a hands-on team leader who can take full ownership of early-stage offerings and their supporting business operations. Green Mountain Energy is seeking a Product Innovation Manger who can easily fit into a fast-paced, dynamic New Product Innovation and Development team driven to accelerate the clean energy and sustainable future. The Product Innovation team is at the core of this company’s growth and provides a great environment to develop cross-functional skills unparalleled in other functional groups.  This position will report to a Sr. Manager in Product Innovation.

 

Responsibilities:

 

The Green Mountain Product Innovation team develops and incubates new products and services to make them ready for introduction into the core business. This position will own the following responsibilities associated with certain products under development:

  • Create product financial models and establish performance targets
  • Forecast and track sales, revenue, expenses and EBITDA
  • Establish and enhance business processes
  • Be the quality control leader; identify errors and create checks & balances
  • Manage personnel responsible for sales and execution
  • Manage external partners
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and work directly with customers to resolve critical issues
  • Develop strategies and financial models for future growth and new market entry

 

The Innovation team also creates custom solutions for strategic partners. This position will also own the following responsibilities:

  • Develop and present customized renewable energy solutions for strategic partners
  • Prepare financial models for strategic partnership offers
  • Lead internal and external teams through the execution of strategic partnerships

 

Qualifications:

 

Experience:

  • 8 - 10 years of professional experience
  • Project management or team leadership
  • Customer-facing roles
  • Product management and/or marketing in a consumer-facing product or services industry
  • Renewable energy and/or retail electricity industries is a plus

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Engineering, IT, or Technology
  • MBA preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Self-starter and self-driven, drives for results with a get things done attitude
  • Ability to deliver quality results timely and consistently
  • Exceptional attention to detail and quantitative skills including use of excel
  • Ability to prepare financial models of new products or solutions
  • Ability to document and enhance business processes that support a new product offering
  • Excellent written and oral communications including the ability to present to business leaders
  • Ability to own multiple initiatives, determine priorities and drive projects forwardAbility to proactively engage the right stakeholders to achieve a desired outcome
  • Ability to effectively lead a cross-functional team and work well within a diverse team
  • Ability to establish relationships and work across a large, cross-functional organization
  • Has self-confidence and assertiveness to provide clear directions for the team
  • Holds people accountable
  • Thinks creatively in the face of challenges
  • 10% travel required
