What You’ll Be Doing

The Audiology Department provides comprehensive specialist hearing services to children and young people, with a limited tertiary-level service to families in Northern NSW and a limited adult service as needed. Services include:

  • Infant diagnostics
  • General paediatric audiology
  • ENT/Audiology-led pathways

Care and treatment are guided by evidence-based practices and collaborative care pathways. You’ll work on-site at JHCH, joining a small team of specialist Audiologists delivering inpatient and outpatient services, including advanced diagnostic hearing assessments in theatres or under anaesthesia where required.

About You / Qualifications

  • You are a highly skilled audiologist with extensive experience in paediatric audiology, preferably within a tertiary or specialist setting.
  • You bring advanced clinical diagnostic and case management skills with the ability to make sound clinical decisions independently.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build relationships with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • You demonstrate leadership in clinical supervision and mentoring, supporting the development of junior staff and students.
  • You are passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and committed to improving outcomes for children and families through innovation, collaboration, and evidence-based practice.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent in Audiology and eligible to be a member of the Audiological Society of Australia.

Additional Information

An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part-time and temporary part-time vacancies. To be eligible for permanent employment you must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or a NZ citizen with a current NZ passport. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. NSW Health policies regarding occupational assessment, screening and vaccination apply for Category A positions prior to offer.
