Business Contribution

To provide support to the Australia business unit, pertaining to Health, Safety, Security and Environmental issues and ensuring the successful implementation of the HSSE management system; leading to the development of a positive safety culture in the Australia business. Responsible for the Jandakot Facility and all remote personnel working in Australia including the Field Service Engineers and the remote Territory Managers.

What You Will Do

  • Set strategic and specific HSSE targets and objectives and measure performance through the Australia service business via the HSSE facility specific KPI scorecard, up to functional and regional management.
  • Develop and maintain the organization’s management system(s) through the Global HSSE Manual; create new and revise existing documentation to reflect changing circumstances, considering local Western Australia State and Australian Federal legislation, Enerpac Tool Group requirements and industry best practice.
  • Facilitate consultation and participation of employees through safety committees, safety meetings, toolbox talks, safety stand downs, town hall meetings, GEMBA walks, safety tours, HSSE notice boards and signage, and daily prestart discussions with Workshop and Warehouse departments.
  • Ensure all tasks and activities are risk assessed, documented and communicated to personnel on-site and remotely.
  • Develop and maintain a risk register for the Australia business unit and mitigate hazards to ALARP.
  • Implement and maintain robust change management and emergency preparedness and response plans with regular reviews and exercises.
  • Maintain and implement an internal assurance audit program in HSSE to drive compliance with legal requirements, company standards and ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 (and support ISO 9001:2015).
  • Lead incident investigation teams using root cause analysis and draft comprehensive incident investigation reports.
  • Lead annual facility level HSSE management reviews to drive continuous improvement; initiate or participate in HSSE initiatives and improvements.
  • Identify HSSE training needs, maintain a training requirements matrix, and monitor HSSE training through a training matrix.
  • Develop and maintain a legal and other requirements register covering State and Federal legal requirements and implement a robust legal compliance assurance audit program.
  • Be a subject matter expert on all Country HSSE legislation implementation and reporting requirements.
  • Develop and implement an environmental management system and support sustainability initiatives via data collection, collation and reporting; develop a waste management plan for the Jandakot facility; maintain Environmental Aspects and Impacts Register; undertake regular facility inspections.
  • Implement a behavioral based safety methodology and Enerpac Human and Organisational Performance tools to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure chemical substances are assessed, stored and used properly; maintain up-to-date Safety Data Sheets and ensure personnel are aware of SDS requirements.
  • Ensure corrective and preventative actions are prioritized and closed out within agreed timelines; raise and close out NCRs for customer complaints, supplier issues and other non-conformances across the ESSAI service business.
  • Develop and implement an effective security management plan for all ESSAI service facilities.

What Makes You An Ideal Candidate

  • 5+ years of HSSE experience in oil and gas and/or service/assembly/manufacturing fields
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or NEBOSH general certificate
  • Incident investigator training
  • Lead or Internal Auditor qualification in ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Leadership qualities to lead, inspire and develop the Jandakot team
