About The Role

We are currently seeking full-time or part-time Registered Nurses to join our Cardiology/Cardiothoracic ward, Kress 5. This 24-bed unit specialises in caring for cardiothoracic patients, including those recovering from heart and lung surgeries, as well as other cardiac-related conditions. With a strong focus on patient-centered care, you’ll provide holistic support that actively involves patients in their treatment and recovery journey.

As part of a close-knit and supportive nursing team, you will collaborate with a diverse multidisciplinary group, all guided by the Nursing Unit Manager (NUM). This role requires flexibility to work a seven-day rotating roster, covering morning, afternoon, and night shifts. Comprehensive onboarding and ongoing education are provided, including continuous support from a Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE), ensuring you have the tools to succeed and grow in your role. Kress 5 is part of a broader cardiac care network, fostering collaboration and professional development across three cardiac areas.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiothoracic patients in a 24-bed ward, including post-operative care for heart and lung surgeries and other cardiac conditions.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team under the guidance of the Nursing Unit Manager (NUM).
  • Deliver patient-centered care, involving patients in treatment and recovery planning.
  • Participate in onboarding and ongoing education with support from the Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE).

What We Are Looking For

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration and at least 2 years of post-graduate experience.
  • Passion for Cardiology or Cardiothoracic nursing, ideally with 1 year or more in the specialty.
  • Curious learner with a desire to grow and develop new skills.
  • Confident and compassionate communicator who builds strong connections with patients, families, and teammates.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster including mornings, afternoons, and nights.
