Project Manager, Special Projects, Operations & Maintenance, APAC
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead large-scale special project initiatives in the APAC region, primarily in the Australian energy market but including other APAC energy markets as required. This high-impact role involves managing complex, fast-moving issues, regulatory compliance, stakeholder coordination, and communication strategies. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in electrical engineering, product knowledge of energy storage systems, and the ability to navigate challenges under executive scrutiny. The role requires executive-level reporting, the ability to manage multiple high-priority issues, and skills to coordinate multiple internal and external stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Oversee the end-to-end project, including triage of issues, scheduling activities for a large installed base, and ensuring minimal disruption to customers.
- Manage processes, investigations, and compliance with Australian energy regulations (e.g., NSP rules, consumer rights).
- Coordinate with certified partners, channel sales teams, and internal groups for efficient rollout, including training on system differences.
- Develop and execute stakeholder management strategies, including upwards reporting to executives on project progress, risks, and milestones.
- Review operations and product design to identify efficiencies, incorporating insights from system limitations and enhancements.
- Create talking points and communication plans for internal teams and external audiences to address market perceptions, emphasizing value in energy reliability and efficiency.
- Monitor project metrics, budget, and timelines in a high-pressure environment, adapting to regulatory changes or supply chain issues.
What You'll Bring
- Electrical Engineering Background: Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, with hands-on experience in energy storage systems, battery technology, and solar integration.
- Product Knowledge: In-depth understanding of energy storage systems, including technical differences (e.g., power output, efficiency, inverter integration) and implications for projects.
- Australian Energy Market Expertise: Strong knowledge of AU regulatory frameworks, including NSP regulations, consumer rights, and energy market rules for household systems.
- Project Management Excellence: Proven track record in managing large-scale, fast-paced projects; expertise in stakeholder management and executive reporting.
- Partner and Coordination Skills: Skilled in working with certified partners and channel sales teams to ensure compliance and quality.
- Communication and Perception Management: Ability to develop internal/external talking points and comms strategies to mitigate risks and build positive market sentiment.
- Operations and Design Review: Capability to assess operational processes and product designs for improvements, with a focus on scalability and efficiency.
