Senior Data Consultant at Talent Insights
Initial 12 month contract with 12 month extension
Sydney / Hybrid
$750-900 including super
The Data Engineer will handle data development and engineering tasks, ensuring adherence to data documentation and providing technical guidance on data designs and models.
Please note that you must have Australian Citizenship to be considered for this role as this is working for an Australian Government agency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set peer review standards for data modeling, development, and release.
- Lead knowledge transfer sessions on development, data modeling, and release best practices.
- Manage technical implementation of new data from analysis to delivery, including designing data dictionaries and defining best practices.
- Promote continuous improvement in delivery, coding standards, and documentation, offering training to the team.
- Prioritize tasks and manage work queues.
- Develop and maintain SQL code and system documentation.
- Collaborate with data teams, developers, testers, and IT support.

The Data and Analytics Team delivers high-quality data and reporting, driving performance improvements. They manage an enterprise data warehouse, reporting platforms, and BI solutions, identifying trends and performance drivers.

Required Qualifications:
- Experience leading data and analytics transformation programs.
- Expertise in Cloud Data Platforms, data architecture, and security.
- Proficient in documenting data and process flows.
- Ability to translate business data into actionable insights.
- High proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with Agile Delivery frameworks.
- Experience with diverse project teams and deploying complex technologies.
- Experience as a Scrum Master.
- Familiarity with SAS Viya 4.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python.
