About The Role... The Self Employment Assistance program is an innovative program funded by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations and supports participants with getting their own business up and running.

As the Self Employment Assistance (SEA) Consultant, you will support participants delivering a comprehensive training and mentoring program. Location: Based in Bunbury, WA. Will involve servicing participants within the South West WA region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement marketing and Networking strategies to engage with potential participants
  • Consult and assess applicants to determine their suitability for the program
  • Assist participants to develop a detailed business plan to Government and APM standards
  • Provide personalised coaching, motivation and guidance to participants
  • Monitor financial viability of businesses, and implement action plans where required
  • Complete all relevant documentation and administration
  • Document progress of participants in our IT systems
  • Facilitate the program in accordance with accreditation standards and contractual obligations

To be considered, you will have...:

  • Eligibility to work in Australia
  • A current driver’s licence and a comprehensively insured vehicle
  • A MyGovID (Standard level)
  • Willing to complete a National Police Check
  • Able to pass a Working with Children Check
  • Available to work Full Time Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm

Key Skills:

  • Exposure and understanding of small business management
  • A natural networker who enjoys building strong connections
  • Exposure within diverse cultural communities advantageous but not essential
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly motivated and able to work autonomously, but as an integral member of a professional team
  • Good computer skills across the main applications (Teams, word, excel, email) and experience with online Learning Management Systems
  • Proven track record in achieving results and KPI’s
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with experience developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Ability to operate within a compliance framework including maintaining attention to detail
  • Experience in Employment Services or clearly demonstrated transferable skills
