Overview

Are you a passionate orthoptist, ophthalmic technician or optometrist looking to make a real difference in a close-knit, patient-focused environment? Our boutique clinic is growing, and we’re seeking dedicated full-time orthoptists, optometrists and ophthalmic technicians to join our team. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to provide personalised care in a supportive, fast-paced setting, working closely with patients, colleagues and 9 leading surgeons.

Multidisciplinary and unique practice – You’ll be part of a tight-knit team with a fantastic opportunity to learn and assist in refractive/lasers setting as we run our own laser suite with the newest VISUMAX 800 + SCHWIND AMARIS 750S.

You will get to work with a range of conditions such as cataracts, cornea, refractive, glaucoma, medical retina, dry eye, and occasional paediatrics.

You’ll also play a key role in gathering valuable research data for a variety of exciting clinical studies.

  • Eager to develop new skills, and has a strong interest in the ophthalmic side of this profession, including assisting in the laser suite and gaining hands-on experience.

  • Efficient and confident – Able to work independently and autonomously in a fast-paced setting while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency, and also excel as part of a cohesive team.
  • Tech-savvy and administrative support – Proficient with computers and able to assist with administrative tasks when needed, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Travel flexibility – Willing and able to travel between our Macquarie St and Darlinghurst locations as required.
  • Detail-oriented and reliable – Committed to delivering high-quality work with attention to detail, be punctual and dependable in meeting responsibilities and deadlines.

Responsibilities and training

The successful applicant will be able to perform the following (training provided):

  • Patient history/VA
  • I-care tonometry
  • OCT/OPTOS
  • Humphrey Visual Field
  • A-scan
  • Pentacam/Specular Microscopy/Corvis
  • Verion/Callisto
  • Subjective refraction/refractive consults
  • Collagen Cross-Linking
  • Assist in minor surgical procedures and intra-vitreal injections
