Role Summary This is a part-time, in-office role (3 days per week). You will work closely with the Finance Director in an end-to-end accounting capacity across multiple entities within a growing Australian business.

Key Responsibilities

  • General Bookkeeping & Accounts; maintain accurate and timely financial records across multiple entities in Xero.
  • Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and employee reimbursements.
  • Perform bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations; allocate income and expenses by department and channels.
  • Payroll – End-to-End Ownership: process monthly payroll (employees & contractors), manage leave, entitlements and bonuses; ensure compliance with superannuation, payroll tax and WorkCover; prepare and lodge STP reports; prepare and reconcile payroll journals and ensure accurate GL coding.
  • Maintain BAS, IAS & GST compliance: prepare and lodge BAS and IAS for all entities; reconcile GST accounts; maintain supporting documentation for audits or ATO queries; collaborate with external accountants as required.
  • Month-End Close & Reporting: assist with month-end journals, accruals, and prepayment schedules; maintain fixed asset register and depreciation calculations; support the Finance Director in preparing financial and performance reports including cash flow forecasts.

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Accounting & Bookkeeping.
  • 5+ years experience as a bookkeeper; a registered BAS agent is favourable.
  • Highly proficient in Xero and Excel; multi-entity experience highly regarded.
  • Experience in payroll processing, preparing and lodging BAS/IAS returns.
  • CRM experience (Monday.com) is a bonus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong interpersonal and communication skills; high attention to detail.
