Sr Electronics Development Engineer

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Research technologies, match them to the right user experiences, create prototypes, and present solutions.
  • Develop products that incorporate embedded processors, sensors, wireless communication, identification, robotics, audio, apps, cloud connectivity, and voice recognition.
  • Evaluate the cost and feasibility of product ideas and present alternative solutions.
  • Navigate global toy compliance regulations while preserving design intent.
  • Identify technical risks and create mitigation plans.
  • Operate independently in a cross-functional development environment.
  • Present complex ideas concisely to non-technical team members.
  • Manage internal and external development resources.
  • Work closely with cross-functional team members across all Hasbro brands to create a meaningful product play experience while still achieving technical, financial and schedule requirements.
  • Generate product ideas through brainstorm sessions.
  • Create product specifications and test plans.
Qualifications
  • B.S. Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 10+ years related experience.
  • Knowledge of microprocessors, sensors, motor control, Bluetooth, WiFi, signal processing, NFC, voice recognition, image recognition, mixed reality, robotics.
  • Experience with hardware and software design in consumer product applications. Experience with Arm Cortex-M series processors and toy-industry specific hardware is beneficial.
  • Experience developing consumer products for global markets utilizing Far East manufacturing.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and a can-do attitude, with demonstrated ability to generate ideas, sell to others, and execute.
  • Experience with a variety of programming languages – C and assembly for embedded systems, and python, java, or C++ for connecting with apps and cloud services.
  • Working knowledge of schematic capture and simulation software.
  • Working knowledge of bug tracking and version control tools.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize competing demands and shifting priorities.
  • Knowledge of test methods and processes to ensure reliability and safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of other engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Materials, etc.) is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Stage/Gate product development processes.
