    This is a Direct Hire Open Continuous Announcement (OCA) for Nurse (Medical/Surgical) for the Nursing department at the Phoenix Indian Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona and will report to the Supervisory Nurse onsite. Nurse performs professional nursing care to assess acute and chronic conditions, recognize, identify and interpret serious situations, administer therapeutic measures such as medication, intravenous fluids, blood transfusions, nasogastric tubes, oncology medication, central lines, ventilators, fetal monitors, arterial lines, etc.

    Qualifications
    To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.

    BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
    Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designates State accredited agency at the time the program was completed; AND

    Must possess an active, unrestricted registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; AND

    Experience: The work experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. At the GS-9 and above grade level, many positions may require experience in a specialty area of nursing.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: In addition to the Basic Requirements, all applicants must meet the minimum qualifications.

    GS-09:
    • Possession of a master's degree in professional nursing; OR
    • At least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or above) AND possession of a diploma, associate degree, or Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from a professional nursing program. Performing professional work experience in nursing care to assess acute and chronic conditions, recognize, identify and interpret serious situations, administer therapeutic measures such as medication, intravenous fluids, blood transfusions, nasogastric tubes, oncology medication, central lines, ventilators, fetal monitors, arterial lines, etc.
