The Hatch Infrastructure business within Hatch has extensive strategic, planning, technology, engineering, and complex implementation experience with major infrastructure projects globally. Hatch Smart Infrastructure is building digital, decision support and automation capabilities in services for clients active in urban and infrastructure environments undergoing change driven by economic growth, climate change and urbanization. Hatch is delivering solutions for private and public clients that are sustainable, resilient, smart, and models of good governance globally.

Hatch is seeking a Decision Support & Business Analytics Specialist to act as a key leader in its US Smart Infrastructure Practice. We are looking for someone motivated by the desire to deliver sound, effective and sustainable solutions that demonstrate improved business outcomes. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work on pioneering projects which involves the implementation of leading edge digital and automation technologies and processes.

Alongside existing senior staff, you will support Hatch Infrastructure and Digital leaderships in areas of business development, customer relationships, people management and financial performance.  In addition, you will also have a key role in supporting and sustaining the growth of the Hatch Infrastructure globally.

You will help lead the development of decision support tools built on business analytics capabilities to deliver clear value for Hatch’s clients. The candidate should have solid industry knowledge and experience, as well as a documented history of assisting Infrastructure and Energy organizations to establish business analysis, system architecture and solutions supporting process optimization and digital transformation.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, technology vendors and development teams to assess requirements, make recommendations, gain consensus and communicate results
  • In collaboration with the Principal Solutions Architect, assess industry and technology solutions to establish optimum systems architecture supporting advancement of digital project objective
  • Establish business requirement and definitions through client engagement, develops solutions’ functional and architecture designs, ensure effective integration of solutions into clients’ operating systems, and ensure accurate implementation and execution, typically performed by others
  • Manage the project delivery process to meet the client’s vision, goals, objectives and expectations
  • Resolve problems and coordinate the final handover of the project to the client
  • Lead and facilitate workshop sessions for a variety of purposes – solutioning, planning, assessments, scoping, business analysis
  • Serve as advisor to client and other project resources, e.g. providing input and feedback into the work being done by simulation and emulation provider
  • Assist with improving the reporting for project execution and for operations (e.g. production reporting)
  • Document the functionality and procedures of various management operations systems
  • Participation in design and code reviews as required
  • Define the testing approach and setting up environments for emulation, staging and commissioning / ramp-up
  • Working in collaboration with client, other Hatch employees (programmers, business analysts, testers) and third parties (consultants / vendors) to deliver successful solutions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or equivalent degree in engineering / applied science (industrial, mechanical, electrical, civil or chemical), or computer science
  • MES and Operations Management System Solution design and delivery, preferably in a diverse set of roles (e.g. programmer, business analyst, architect, project manager)
  • Familiar with industrial control platforms (PLC/DCS/SCADA)
  • Experience integrating and interfacing business systems with automation systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of the client organization from C and VP levels to operator level
  • Interested in the application of robotics and automation to industrial processes
  • More than 10 years of experience managing automation, historians and manufacturing execution systems (MES) projects
  • Experience applying Agile (Scrum) / DevOps to drive better collaboration during project execution
  • Excellent knowledge of software development lifecycle and best practices (e.g. coding, version control, testing, etc.)
  • Experience developing business cases using applied automation and digital technologies
