Diffusion Process Engineer

As a Diffusion Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will support processes and equipment used in the Fab 6 300mm Diffusion Process area addressing process problems and performing tool maintenance and repair. You will also support new tool installation and qualification, work with other engineers to develop process and equipment modifications to improve product yield, increase productivity, or reduce cost, track equipment performance and develop Pareto analysis, work with equipment engineering to plan experiments and modifications for availability improvements, and assist in the development of equipment maintenance and repair procedures. Additionally, you will document area Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Quality Deviation Report (QDR) occurrences and assist in the summary and development of corrective actions, ensure the communication of all process and equipment related changes affecting the Diffusion process area, and ensure the documentation of maintenance, repair, and process activity through effective passdowns, SPC entries, and Equipment Tracking records. 

 

Successful candidate must have:

  • Working knowledge gained through academic coursework or experience in Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Vapor Deposition (APCVD), Low Pressure Chemical Vapor Deposition (LPCVD) and Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) processes.
  • Knowledge gained through academic coursework or experience of batch furnace process operations and maintenance.
  • An understanding gained through academic coursework or experience of the basic differences between NAND and DRAM, and the need for queue times when building NAND or DRAM parts.
  • Strong knowledge gained through academic coursework or experience of traveler/process flow.
  • Knowledge gained through academic coursework or experience with manufacturing execution system (MES), maintaining process performance by SPC, Special Work Requests (SWRs), and QDR.
  • An understanding gained through academic coursework or experience in identifying outliers versus an actual deviation in processing.
  • PC skills gained through academic coursework or experience in MS Excel, Word, and Project.
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently and to prioritize issues and tasks.
  • A high level of self-motivation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The willingness to work swing shifts and weekends as needed.
  • The ability to work well in groups and in one-on-one situations.
  • A working knowledge of Fab processes gained through academic coursework or experience.
  • Good analytical skills gained through academic coursework or experience.
  • The ability gained through academic coursework or experience to design valid tests, SWRs, and design of experiments (DOE's).
  • A basic understanding gained through academic coursework or experience of probe, parametrics, and device theory.

 

 

Education/Experience Requirements:

Degree Required:               BS or equivalent foreign education

Academic Discipline(s):      Materials or Chemical Engineering
